Although Lenny does not sleep on the streets, he has not really had anyone to care for him since being abandoned by his mother. When he seeks acceptance with a gang of homeless rap singing youths by shop lifting, a social worker arranges for him to attend a holiday camp. Lenny feels he has lost control of his life. He is moved from the camp just when he begins to feel more comfortable and he runs back to the streets, but that is lonely and frightening. A foster placement turns out to be a happier arrangement than he fears.
