Donut Dilemma – What Would You Do?

Speech Corner’s Donut Dilemma—What Would You Do? is a set of language development cards to support growth in exploring problematic decisions, considering consequences, and finding the best solution.

What would you do? This is precisely the question students answer as they work together to stack a tower of donuts. They take turns rolling the die, answering questions, and adding donuts to the cup as they solve dilemmas. All players need to be careful because the wobbly saucer makes it a true balancing feat! The cards illustrate the four distinct types of donuts. Each donut focuses on one of the following questions:

• What is the problem/dilemma? (ring donuts)
• How does the character feel? (yeast donuts)
• Who/What could help? (cruller donuts)
• Is that a good solution? (old-fashioned donuts)
