Robin M Schader

Robin M. Schader holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Connecticut, specializing in Gifted and Talented Education with a focus on talent development and the role of parents. She worked as a research professor at the University of Connecticut and, for 10 years, was the Parent Resource Advisor for the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC), writing a regular column in Parenting for High Potential. She has been invited to speak at numerous state and national conferences, including NAGC, National PTA, National HeadStart, and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Before graduate school, she founded and directed Music House, a nonprofit “home away from home” for exceptionally talented precollege music students from around the world who had outgrown the teaching available in their communities and needed to live near the San Francisco Conservatory of Music to pursue high-level training. Having served on the boards of both public and private institutions, she is currently a trustee of Bridges Academy, a school for twice-exceptional students, as well as on the executive board of the 2e Center for Research and Professional Development. Robin is the mother of three children—now grown and parents themselves—who each continue to contribute generously to her education as parent.
