Ross W Greene

Dr Ross W. Greene, Ph.D., is a clinical child psychologist who was on the faculty at Harvard Medical School for over twenty years, and is now adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology at Virginia Tech and adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Science at the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia. He is also the founding director of the nonprofit organization Lives in the Balance (LivesintheBalance.org), through which he disseminates the model of care; now called Collaborative & Proactive Solutions; described in his books. He is the author of the highly acclaimed books The Explosive Child and Lost at School.

Dr Green is the originator of the influential Collaborative Problem Solving model which is now known as Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS). His research has been funded by the Stanley Medical Research Institute, the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the U.S. Department of Education, and the Maine Juvenile Justice Advisory Group. He consults extensively to general and special education schools, inpatient and residential facilities, and systems of juvenile detention, and lectures widely throughout the world.

He is also founder of the non-profit Lives in the Balance.
