SPELD Professional Development Workshop in Newcastle

This Friday 12th June, SPELD NSW are holding a professional development workshop at New Lampton Bowling Club in Newcastle (see link below for more details). Silvereye will have a resource display at the workshop open from 8am through to 3.30pm. We will have a broad array of resources focussed on learning difficulties and behaviour management.

The SPELD workshop, titled Memory Matters and Behavioural Management , features two top quality speakers in Mimma Mason and Ian Luscombe:

  • For the past 12 years Mimma has worked with Clinicians, Educators, Coaches and Workplace Health professionals to raise awareness of brain health: how to measure and improve everyday functional wellness and performance. She has been a regular speaker on the topic of neuroplasticity and how knowledge of the brain can help us to be better teachers, managers and coaches.
  • Ian Luscombe has 28 years experience in Special Education, including 14 years as Principal of Redbank School (a behaviour school in Westmead, NSW). Ian is in high demand as a speaker and has spoken extensively across Australia (conferences, schools, universities, NSW parliament house) on practical behaviour management strategies and on ways to enhance teacher welfare in schools.

This workshop will give you new insights into how to support kids who are struggling in your schools. So if you can make the time, you are likely to get a lot out if it.
