Finnish Schools are on the Move!
More Details

Finland has become widely recognised as a world leader in school education and they have introduced a program to get kids moving more at school to improve learning.

Hundreds of schools in Finland have adopted "Finnish Schools on the Move," which seeks to keep students moving more throughout the day. A recent pilot programme found that, of those participating, about half of elementary-school students and one-third of middle-school students saw an increase in movement.

There is increasing research and evidence to show that just as kids' bodies need specific nutrients for good health, they also need a balanced diet of physical activity to help them reach their potential. One of our most popular recent books; A Moving Child Is a Learning Child; is grounded in best practices and current research on this topic. It is both a hands-on resource for any classroom teacher, care provider, or parent and an ideal tool for coaches, mentors, and professional development trainers.
