Esther Deblinger
Esther Deblinger, PhD, is Professor of Psychiatry at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey, where she is also Cofounder and Codirector of the CARES (Child Abuse Research Education and Service) Institute. Dr. Deblinger has conducted extensive research on the mental health impact of child abuse and the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder and other abuse-related difficulties. She has written numerous scientific articles and book chapters, as well as books for professionals and educational books for children. Dr. Deblinger is a frequent invited speaker at local, national, and international conferences and has served on the board of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC). She is a recipient of honors including the Outstanding Research Career Achievement Award from APSAC and the Rosenberry Award from the Children's Hospital Colorado. In addition to her administrative, research, and teaching responsibilities, sheremains active as a clinician and supervisor.
